The Lorax

Hi all, Ms. Lauren here!

This week (4/23-4/27) in the Toddler Center we read "The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss. This story is about a character called Lorax who spoke for the trees and warned the Once-ler (another main character) about the dangers of disrespecting the environment. The book explains the importance of seeing the beauty in the world around us and about our responsibility to protect it.

The Monkey's, Elephant's and Giraffe classes all participated in fun activities throughout the week!

We planted Lima beans using zip-lock bags and cotton balls soaked in water. We dropped the Lima beans in the bags with the cotton balls and placed them near a well lit area in the classroom. We are currently watching the progress.

We painted our very own Truffula Trees using "puffy paint"- shaving cream and glue.

We even took a little nature walk to collect sticks and then used chalk pastels to color them.

That's all for now!!

Have a good week all!! :)
